 | The Florida Association of the Deaf offers benefits to Deaf and hard of hearing communities around the state. When you join the FAD, benefits are: bulletin board and polls (access for members only) on the website, special programs offered by FAD -- and we're working to deliver even more benefits for all our members!
With your membership involvement and support, the FAD can continue its educational and advocacy efforts on behalf of deaf and hard of hearing Americans. Your financial support makes it possible for the FAD to: | |
| - Preserve and expand deaf awareness, deaf culture, and deaf heritage efforts.
- Network with local association affiliates through regional and county programs, conferences, and other joint endeavors.
- Advocate for the civil rights of deaf and hard of hearing Americans, including legal, employment, and educational rights, in the state of Florida.
- Develop future deaf and hard of hearing leaders through youth programs and services, i.e., Junior NAD chapter network and Youth Leadership Camp.
- Work toward communication access, including technological, visual media, and telecommunications accessibility.
- Strengthen its representation base and influence on public policy, legislative, and advocacy issues.
- Support overall programs and services, including FAD programs, committees, and task forces.
- Handle public information and referrals; effectively respond to inquiries and requests for information.
- Invest in funding opportunities for future growth and expansion of the programs.
